Most beautiful pharmacy in Catania, the first room being like a little apothecary museum. I read the owner is a lady from De Gaetani family, descendant of an honorable doctor who had cared for troops in times of war and need. Honour and respect.

Amazing pharmacy/museum! This place is run by a very kind lady pharmacist. She is very special as she is the descendant of the De Gaetani doctor who healed some of Garibaldi troops during the 1860's campaign in Sicily. The pharmacy is filled with memorabilia from the 19, 20 century. It has good prices for medicines and a very wide variety of products. The staff is very good at giving advices for the best treatments.

We needed to get a CV19 rapid test in Catania prior to our return flight to the U.S. Any farmacia could have done the test, but luckily we had a recommendation: Farmacia de Gaetani. The test was done quickly and efficiently and we received the necessary documents. But I recommend a visit to see the pharmacy and learn its amazing story. The pharmacist Marilena de Gaetani is the latest generation of her family to treat visitors and Catanians since the 18th century. An earlier de Gaetani treated the British admiral Lord Nelson and his sailors. Dottoressa de Gaetani can recount extraordinary details from different periods, and explain the many many antique instruments and medicine bottles—really worth visiting and very near the main piazzas of Catania’s centro. But it’s not a museum; Farmacia de Gaetani is an active up to date source for all your health needs and advice.

How is that possiblet that a pack od Aspirin and a pack od Vitaminn C costs... 47 euro???? It is over 10 times its price in Poland.... I've checked the price of Ester Vitamin C: it should be 12-16 instead of 39 euro.... Regarding the answer: each type of vit. C is well absorbed and this medicine is not dangerous to atomach, because any surplus is easily removed by an organism. The cost of vit. C, with rutoside (+- selenium) is low, no Matthew the dose or amount of tablets. Also, your answer do not explain the typically cited price (in Italy), that is, 12-16 euro.
