On August 25, 2023, at 5.38 pm, I stopped in this pharmacy, very far from where I live, returning from a trip. I explicitly ask the pharmacist for iodine tincture, which can be found everywhere for the price of 3, maximum 5€ per bottle, recommending that it is pure iodine tincture, because I already have Betadine and other disinfectant products at home, but I need that specific disinfectant . The lady tells me that she has Neo Mercurochrome, displayed right nearby and assures me that it is identical and has the same excipients as the tincture requested. He takes care to reassure me several times, while I underline that for me the fundamental thing is that it has exactly the same excipients, then even if it has a different name I don't care, I just need it to be identical in composition. I pay a whopping €9, on average double, if not triple, the cost of the iodine tincture. Back home, I open the package and with disappointment, seeing the phosphorescent fuchsia color and the smell which does not correspond in the slightest to the iodine tincture, I decide to do a search on the web, to discover that not only does it not have the same excipients as the tincture , but not even a single ingredient in common! I obviously feel cheated, given that I had been very careful to specify that I wanted a specific product and that not only was I given a different one, but also that it cost three times as much, and living many kilometers from there, I know I having lost my €9, for a product that I will never use since it stains and is useless for the use I had to make of it. On 08/26/23 I therefore called the pharmacy, not to be reimbursed, given the distance, but to report the fact and understand how something like this could have happened. I explain what happened, first to a pharmacist and then to the "manager", who instead of apologizing, insistently asks me what I should have done with this dye (what do you care?), and who states that it is a disinfectant anyway and I will be able to use it as such (which is absurd given that it stains and I don't need it, as I already have many packs of various disinfectants and antibacterials). Furthermore, he is keen to tell me, without even having spoken to his colleague, that the mistake (therefore he admits that it was a mistake) was made in absolute good faith. I had nothing to gain from it, because for €9 I'm certainly not going to drive half an hour to get a product change, I expected at least a sincere apology, rather than an annoyed justification, calling myself fussy, given that so much for them it is always a product that serves its purpose. I find this way of behaving unfair, towards a customer who trusts the word of a pharmacist, only to find himself at home surprised and ridiculed. If by chance I had been allergic to certain elements, and I had used a product on trust, trusting the pharmacist, I could have had unpleasant consequences. I didn't even want to leave a review, but being very annoyed by the way the "director" treated me, I decided to look at the reviews, and I was able to verify that good faith is not contemplated by these doctors, given that two other negative reviews , they told stories identical to what happened to me. So it is a well-tested modus operandi, which is implemented with lightness, insistence, and there is definitely malice in the action, certainly one wants to sell certain products over others, because they are more expensive, especially to customers never seen (as in my case) or occasional. A behavior that is not at all professional, which exploits the good faith of the customer who relies on non-professional people (if they wanted to give me a product that does not conform to what I requested, because it is more expensive), or ignorant people (if they cannot distinguish from "pharmacists" the iodine tincture from Neo Mercurochrome). Please, continue like this, and never apologize, you're making a great impression!
If I'm in a hurry and pass by it, I sometimes shop at this pharmacy. I always only take over-the-counter drugs (without a prescription, so to speak), and the person who serves me always makes me very worried that what I ask for is not valid or not recommended for the purpose it serves! Before each purchase I am fully aware and if I want something they have to give it to me (it would be another matter if it were for things for which the recipe is used) but since it is over the counter and if they sell it, they have to end up wanting to give it to me what they want because I have trusted them several times and once I read the "internal leaflet" I have always brought home a different drug in principle of action to what I was with them for. Never again!
Convenient pharmacy because it has attached parking. Staff ready to offer what is on display but reluctant to order products that I usually use and in this they justify themselves by not being available in stock (strange, the other two pharmacies in Noventa sell and procure it). I recommend them what I need but at home I read the information leaflet of the new purchase and compared it with what I use, the active ingredient is totally different. Having consulted Google it confirms not that it is dissimilar but different. So if you use it there you must be be shrewd, because not only for your health but money doesn't fall from trees.
