Last week, in Italy, my wife broke her foot and we needed to get home to Chicago ASAP. We were in eastern Abruzzo, not exactly a backwater, but not a cosmopolitan metro area like Rome, either. We desperately needed Covid tests in order to go home, my wife was not very mobile at all, and all of the few available regional Covid testing centers were fully booked. Desperate, we decided to try and find one in Popoli, the town nearest to the place where we were staying. Farmacia Violante Dr.Antonio was the fourth farmacia in Popoli that we tried. The doctor explained that they were also booked solid and could not help us, but after I outlined our situation to the doctor, he and his staff made the special effort to stay open AFTER their official business hours and to MAKE the extra time necessary to get us tested (I think our pathetic hopelessness must’ve melted his heart). Anyway, long story short, we got our tests, we made it home shortly thereafter, the wife is recuperating at home, and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Farmacia Violante Dr.Antonio. GRAZIE!!
