I went to take the antibiotic AUGMENTIN for earache, 1 box, 12 tablets for a 6 day treatment. The pharmacist who served me threw two boxes into my bag. I became suspicious because 12 days of antibiotics for an earache, knowing the impact it has on the immune system, I saw it as excessive. We hadn't talked to the doctor about how many packs and days of treatment to do, "you can simply find everything in the pharmacy." I was given a refund through one of her colleagues who corrected the receipt at the checkout. The next day I called the doctor back who confirmed the 6-day treatment, then a box. If I had abandoned myself to being a pharmacist I would have taken 12 days of antibiotics! I want to believe it was just a mistake, even if making a mistake with 2 hg of ham instead of 1 hg is less serious than 2 boxes of antibiotics instead of 1. But the fact that I was then told, "it's better to have a box at home anyway, if he returns, he loses the recipe..." makes me think that selling matters more than the health of the buyer.
